Back in August, during a Springfield City Council public hearing on amending the city’s nondiscrimination ordinance to include sexual orientation and gender identity protections, Rev. Phil Snider of the Brentwood Christian Church lashed out at the council for “inviting the judgement of God upon our land” by making “special rights for gays and lesbians.”

He goes on to invoke the bible and morality and the end of days a few more times before suddenly appearing to lose his train of thought.

Say What Now GOP Congressman Edition of the Day: Illinois Republican Rep. Joe Walsh is under fire for comments he made Thursday night in his final debate against Democrat Tammy Duckworth — he said he opposes abortion “without exception,”even when the life of the mother is at stake.

The trouble came when the Tea Partier doubled down on his position with the media afterward:

There’s no such exception as life of the mother. And as far as health of the mother, same thing, with advances in science and technology, health of the mother has become a tool for abortions anytime under any reason.

The facts Walsh used to justify his position have been proven absolutely false. In fact, studies show that pregnancy-related deaths for women are on the rise.

People like this do NOT belong in positions where they decide legislation. Someone needs to propose a basic biology exam that you must pass in order to get your name on the ballot. The crazy shit they say is never ending.

Her parents learned last week her cancer (neuroblastoma) has advanced even with treatment, and there is nothing more they can do. One of her items on her list is to ride in a hot air balloon. Ricky Watson of Littleton, Colorado wipes tears from his eyes after he thanked President Barack Obama for repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” at a campaign rally in Golden, Colorado, September 13. Watson was kicked out of the Air Force 25 years ago for being gay.

Anyone willing to risk their life for our country should be allowed to serve. Thank you, President Obama!
